I had to fix a Samsung TV for my mother. I had problems with my 42" Samsung LCD TV (it clicked and took several tries before turning on and there were often small dots of color on the screen after turning it on). So I found Tyler's TV on Angie's list and wanted to have her come out to give me an estimate to see ifit was worth fixing. When I spoke to them and told them about the issues I was having, they told me it sounded like it was a capacitor issue that many Samsung models had and that I should call Samsung and see if my TV covered by this manufacturer's warranty. I took her advice and called Samsung. Samsung agreed that it sounded like their problem and gave me permission to have the TV checked and repaired and they would cover the cost. I told Samsung to have Tyler's TV fix my TV. Samsung called them and said Tyler's TV would contact me within 2 business days, which they did. They worked with me to select a day/time. They arrived a little later than planned and I had to call them (so I gave them a 2 for being on time) but the 2 gentlemen who arrived were very polite and professional and had my TV fixed within 20 minutes. It works like new again! I appreciate the honesty and support they gave me on my first call by directing me to go to Samsung first. The rest of the experience went just as well

I have a Samsung F8500 plasma that I bought in the fall of 2013. For those who don't know, this was the pinnacle of TV picture quality and is still extremely competitive with current TVs. Essentially this is still a great TV despite being 7 years old and I don't feel like jumpingnor in an OLED set. Imagine my dismay when, out of the blue, the TV started doing all the things that TVs do when they're about to behave. Turning on takes longer. Then after a while it starts to close itself. After extensive Googling I figured it could be a few different things and I really didn't want to break out the soldering iron and try to fix it myself. The stakes were too high! My plasma baby deserves professional attention! I looked up and called A-1 TV service to try and fix my problem. I had no problems with them at all. They made an appointment, came at the stated time and very methodically diagnosed and repaired my TV. They *could* have done a number of things to squeeze more money out of me (they could have told me it was a bad power supply, bad capacitor, etc.), but the problem was literally that the TV had a few connectors had to have resoldered. It was taken care of professionally and courteously and they even put my TV right back on the wall bracket. Their price was super cheap and I will use them whenever any of my other devices have issues in the future. They repair all types of appliances except refrigerators. Thank you A-1 TV for bringing my F8500 back to life!

I have a 52" Samsung LCD that started the endless on/off clicking cycle and wouldn't turn on fully. It had happened before but got over it after 45-60 minutes. This time it didn't recover - It started like this and lasted more than three days. Finally I called SamsungService this morning and they said it was a covered repair even though the TV is from 2008 and out of warranty. The only problem was that they couldn't get their service technician out to look at the set for at least two weeks! As soon as Tyler's TV was open I called and they said to get back in touch with Samsung and ask them to switch the service ticket to Tyler's TV service. Then he gave me his Samsung authorized service number to give to Samsung to check. He said if Samsung could switch tickets, he could come out today and fix the device. The folks on the phone at Samsung weren't sure if they could reassign the ticket, but it went through fine. If not, I would have asked a manager to help me. Tyler's technician showed up between 3pm and 6pm as scheduled and repaired the set in less than an hour. The technician was friendly and competent. Before we left we discussed another problem the TV had from time to time. The technician took the information and said he would forward it to Samsung after the weekend for a quote on the repair. Overall, Tyler's TV was prompt, very knowledgeable and professional, and I would not hesitate to ask for their help again should I need a TV repair

Jeff Weiner recognized the problem right away and helped me figure out if I needed a new TV. He pointed out the advantages of the cheaper way to fix the old one: I did that and it works great now. (Because the prices were so good, I also brought a replacement TV for an even older oneanother house.

Initially, my experience with Tyler's TV was pretty decent. Samsung hired them to fix my broken TV. When they arrived to do the job, the technician said, "Nothing personal but if I had known you were in an apartment building we wouldn't have canceled the appointment." kindan odd way to start the conversation, and doubly so considering most of Northern VA live in apartments, but OK. They were otherwise friendly and set out once the work was complete. I reappeared with the problem and called them back to fix the TV again. I was told they would look into it and call me back. A week later I found I hadn't received a call so I called again and was told they would have someone to call me back. I reluctantly agreed and hung up. That was around thanksgiving and i was out for the next week but i never got a call. When I got home and called Tyler's TV again, I was told I had to call Samsung to "get the ticket to the front of the line". OK. I called Samsung again and told them that Tyler's TV had kind of pissed me off. Apparently my remarks angered the technicians because after calling them about the new ticket they told me to find a new service provider as they were unwilling to work with customers who made "derogatory remarks about the services". . The technician then reiterated his previous comments, saying that bringing television screens into residential buildings was difficult. Again, it seems strange that they have such ingrained prejudices against apartment buildings. Considering how I carried my TV, box and all to my apartment with no problem, I think it would be a safe assumption that two technicians could figure out a way to carry a screen up an elevator and through a door . If you live in an apartment I suggest looking elsewhere for a TV repair as admittedly Tyler's TV technicians aren't able to navigate the hallways

My Samsung TV started clicking before turning on a few months ago and then eventually stopped not turning on at all. I described the problem to Tyler TV Repair and they informed me that this was a common problem with my model of TV and that there was a class action lawsuit against Samsungexactly this problem and that the repair should be covered by them. They gave me a phone number to call to arrange a repair with them and they came the next day to fix my TV. I had no idea there was a problem with the Samsung not turning on and if they hadn't helped me with this covered repair I might have paid quite a bit to have this TV repaired. They were very professional when they came out to fix my TV - they made no mess and completed the repair in less than 15 minutes. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a TV repair

Very good. First I brought my TV in for repair and they were very efficient in diagnosing it. Bottom line, it's likely to cost around 50% of what a new, comparable 60-inch Samsung TV would cost. The problem was that it was very likely that it would need to be repaired again soon. shame aboutSamsung for building a lemon, but I was willing to give Samsung another shot. The repair person/owner was great. He took a lot of time to explain some issues to me, took the new TV out of the box and tested it, programmed the remote and helped me load it into my car. After trying to set it up at home for about an hour, I was still having trouble. I called him and explained the problem to him. He offered to drive to my house and help. Turns out Samsung had put a bad connection cable in, but after replacing it we were able to get the TV working again and I'm very happy with it. I don't know of many companies that would offer such a level of personalized service. So if your TV has problems, go to them. If they can fix it, they will, but if they can't, new TV options will be explained to you and they will stand by those new TVs

My big flat screen died, just died. World Championships, Wimbledon, Tour de France, a lot of TV is coming up. When I tried to call the Home Service Network, I was given an auto attendant phone, followed the instructions, and dialed the extension as instructed. Oddly, I ended up on a voicemail system and left a message. Two days later and no call back so I tried again. This time the phone just kept ringing andrang so I tried another extension which put me straight to voicemail. Still no call back. I have no idea how this company even stays in business if they don't answer the phone or call you back. If this is indicative of the service provider I can't imagine how badly they will actually fix our TV but I don't think I'll be sticking around to find out

Called and got hold of Bill on the first try. Discussed TV topics (TV was totally dead). Arrangements made to bring TV to service same day. Delivered the TV to his shop that evening. Received one to two day estimate to respond with diagnosis and repair estimate. The next afternoon he called againTag with a detailed description of the problems and a cost estimate for the repair. The repairs were completed that afternoon and the TV was ready for collection exactly 24 hours after it was dropped off. The TV was on and working like new when picked up.
