Most Popular Phone Brands (By Shows) [Updated Feb 2023] (2023)

It's not just the manufacturer with the biggest onesSmartphone market share worldwide, the latest figures also show that South Korean phone maker Samsung topped the list of most popular phone brands in the third quarter of 2022 in terms of smartphone shipments.

Current datatop smartphone brands ranked by number of shipments shows that Samsung shipped 64.3 million of its smartphones in Q3 2022. That's 7.2% less than the total number of phone shipments in Q3 2021. It's also 21%. of the global market share of smartphone shipments. In other words, more than one in five smartphones shipped in the third quarter of 2022 was made by Samsung.

This is part of the company's goal of expanding its market share with theRelease of further 5G models. It hopesride the wave of demandof consumers finally ready to replace their old devices when the impact of the pandemic wears off.

Coming in second is rival brand Apple, which shipped 49.2 million smartphones in the third quarter of 2022, down 2.5% annually and accounting for a 16% market share.

Together, Samsung and Apple have a 37% market share in global smartphone shipments, meaning that almost a third of all smartphones shipped in the third quarter of 2022 were made by these two companies.

Third on this list of top smartphone companies (after shipping) is Xiaomi, which shipped 40.5 million devices in Q3 2022. This corresponds to a decline of 8.8% compared to the previous year.

Incidentally, only last year the companyreportedRecord revenue growth of 64% in the second quarter of last year in which itsurpassed Appleto become the second largest smartphone manufacturer.

The fourth most popular phone brand is Oppo, with 29.5 million shipments in the third quarter of 2022. That represents an annual decline of 22.6%, a sharp drop from last year's figures. Rounding out the list of top smartphone brands is vivo, which shipped 26 million devices, down 22.8% annually.

Apple is the only phone brand on this list that has increased its cell phone shipments year after year, even outperforming the market. A total of 301.9 million smartphones across all brands were shipped in the third quarter of 2022, down 11.7% year-on-year.

Of the five most popular mobile phone brands, four come from Asia - more precisely from China and South Korea. Apple is the only non-Asian brand to make the list.
